Application architecture

Different layers. A coordinated selection.

Cooling generation

Dunham-Bush air- and water-cooled chillers, including the magnetic-bearing range in the company profile. Selection follows duty, operating temperatures and site conditions.

Distribution & hydronic control

Heat exchangers, PICV valves and kits, BTU meters, balancing, piping and insulation form part of the supporting portfolio.

Room-level heat removal

Precision cooling, in-row units and CRAH fan walls are air-side equipment options. The choice follows the IT cooling architecture, room layout and required operating envelope.

Heat rejection & water systems

Cooling towers and fluid coolers, filtration and storage are selected for the relevant system arrangement, water conditions and project requirements.

Design discussion

Start with the operating requirement.

RequirementInformation to establish before equipment selection
Load & development stageDesign cooling load, rack-density information where applicable, present load and phased expansion plan.
Cooling architectureAir-cooled or liquid-cooled IT arrangements, proposed heat-removal method and system boundaries.
Environmental conditionsRequired air/liquid temperatures, humidity criteria, site ambient conditions and operating profiles.
Resilience & maintainabilityRequired availability outcome, maintenance isolation, failure scenarios and cooling continuity criteria.
Site resourcesWater availability and quality, space, access, electrical supply and environmental constraints.
Interfaces & acceptanceMechanical/electrical/controls responsibilities, testing requirements, witnessing and acceptance criteria.

Delivery & verification

Define the interfaces before selection.

A coordinated equipment package needs clear responsibility at each connection and operating interface. Use the project proposal to establish who designs, supplies, installs, connects, controls, tests and accepts each part.

Mechanical & electrical

Confirm hydraulic duties, connections, physical space, power requirements and the responsible parties.

Controls & operating sequences

Define the required control interfaces, operating sequences and points of integration with the wider facility.

Testing & handover

Agree equipment start-up support, functional tests, any integrated testing, witness points, records and operator handover requirements.

Application-dependent options

Backup cooling is a system decision.

ICE-CEL thermal storage is an option to assess after the cooling architecture, operating duty and required backup duration are established. It is not a substitute for defining the complete cooling-continuity arrangement.

  • Storage must be charged and sized for the required cooling duty and duration.
  • Controls and backed-up power for the necessary pumps and cooling terminals must be addressed.
  • Ice charging requires suitable chiller and fluid selection.
  • Hybrid and liquid-cooling interfaces require project-specific selection and engineering confirmation.

The portfolio does not establish a complete validated CDU, cold-plate or immersion package. The website makes no Tier certification, uptime guarantee or whole-facility performance claim.

Next step

Build an equipment enquiry that can be assessed.

Share the load, temperatures, cooling architecture, development stage, site constraints and resilience objectives. Ask the team to identify the equipment package, technical documentation and interfaces applicable to your scope.

Selected supply reference · Riyadh Metro Stations

Precision cooling for technical environments.

Mase Gulf supplied Dunham-Bush DB-AIRE III CRAC units with EC fan technology for Riyadh Metro Stations and holds preventive maintenance contracts for the same equipment.

Product value

The manufacturer describes variable-speed EC fans, close temperature and humidity control, and front access for servicing. These features support airflow control and maintainability in technical-room applications.

Engineering context

Equipment configuration, airflow, duty and control requirements must follow the project selection. Product features are distinct from site-measured performance; no project energy-saving or ROI figure is stated.

Project supply scope confirmed by Mase Gulf. Product features: official DB-AIRE III catalogue. Catalogue imagery and options may differ from the units supplied.
